The following disclaimers apply to use of our web chat service.

  • The information provided by our customer service officers (CSOs) through our web chat service is general information only. You should obtain appropriate professional advice relevant to your particular circumstances.
  • A transcript of each web chat is retained by us and may be monitored for coaching purposes. If you do not wish to proceed with the web chat, please select 'End Chat'.
  • We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for, or directly related to, one or more of our functions or activities under the legislation we administer. If you provide us with personal information, we will treat it in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  • Web chat communications are secure. The lock at the top of the chat window means you can chat securely with our CSO. However, you should be aware of the risks associated with using websites. We will use all reasonable efforts to ensure that ASIC's systems and your information are not compromised, however, we cannot guarantee that no harmful surreptitious code or contaminants including viruses, bugs, trojan horses, spyware or adware, will enter web chat services provided by ASIC. We recommend that you use appropriate and up-to-date firewall and anti-virus software to protect your computer systems. ASIC accepts no liability or responsibility for any interference with or damage to your computer, software or data occurring as a result of accessing ASIC. However, we will do our best to help you if we can. We may sever links to a website or system outside our control if it compromises web chat services provided by ASIC.
