How to register for online access

To check and change company details online, you need to register for online access.

Get started

Visit the ASIC website at www.asic.gov.au.

  • Select 'Use our online services' on the right-hand side of the screen.

Select 'Sign up' in the Registered Agents for companies box.

Form setup

Read the ASIC Electronic Lodgement protocol. It outlines the rules and obligations you must comply with.

  • Select 'Yes' to confirm you agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of the ASIC Electronic Lodgement Protocol.
  • Select 'As an ASIC registered agent', as the basis on which you are applying.
  • Select 'Next' to continue.

Enter your agent details

Enter your registered agent number.

  • Select whether you are authorised to;
    • enter data only or
    • enter data and submit documents.
  • Select 'Next' to continue.

Set up a user name and password

You will need to create a user name and password.

  • Enter a user name and password of your choice that meets the criteria listed.
  • Confirm your password.
  • Enter a security question and answer, to help us confirm your identity if you forget your user name or password.
  • Select 'Next' to continue.

Verify your new user name and password

You will be prompted to enter your new user name and password.

  • Enter your user name and password.
  • Select 'OK' to continue.

Enter your personal details

Enter your personal details in the fields provided.

  • Ensure you read the note at the bottom of the screen in relation to keeping your information up-to-date.
  • Select 'Next' to continue.

Annual statement package declaration

The information regarding issuing of annual statement packages is important. Please read this information carefully.

  • Select 'Yes' to acknowledge your understanding.
  • Select 'Next' to continue.

Participation agreement

To complete your application for online access you must:

  • Print and sign the Participation Agreement. The Participation Agreement is the form RC99.
  • Select 'Yes' to confirm you have acknowledged a copy of this document will be sent/faxed to ASIC.
  • Select 'Next' to continue.

Submit the application

Select 'Yes' to declare you agree/comply with the terms outlined.

  • Select 'Submit' to lodge the document with ASIC.

You must then send the signed Participation Agreement to ASIC via email.

ASIC will check and process your application. We will contact you via the nominated email address on the application confirming your online access has been granted.

Confirmation

This screen confirms your document was submitted to ASIC.

  • Select 'Next' to continue.

Note: Occasionally, the system may present an additional form submission screen at this point. If this is the case, continue to select 'Next' to finalise this transaction.

What is an ASIC key?

Your ASIC key is a unique number used in ASIC Connect that helps us establish your identity and protects your business information by making sure only you and those you have authorised can access it.

What is an invitation key?

An invitation key is a unique key to register for, or connect to an entity in, the ASIC Regulatory Portal.

What is an industry funding security key?

Your industry funding security key is a unique number used to launch an online transaction in the ASIC Regulatory Portal that will enable us to calculate your final industry funding invoice. You will be prompted to submit business activity metric information on the operation of your business in the previous financial year.
