Mr Tony D’Aloisio, Chairman of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), today announced Mr John Bligh, as ASIC’s new Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Bligh took up his CEO role in February and was recently also appointed Victorian Regional Commissioner.

‘I am delighted to welcome John to ASIC’, Mr D’Aloisio said.

‘I know that John will bring his considerable energies to bear in both the CEO and Regional Commissioner roles. He will have a key role in helping the Commission achieve its six priorities’, Mr D’Aloisio said.

As CEO, Mr Bligh has responsibility for information technology, finance, human resources and customer service delivery, including the Public Information Processing Centre in Traralgon, Victoria.

As Victorian Regional Commissioner, Mr Bligh has responsibility for liaising with the Victorian business, financial services, investor and consumer communities.

Mr Bligh has 34 years of experience in the IT and services industries and most recently ran his own consultancy. He was previously Executive Director of Services for Accenture Asia Pacific, and before that for IBM as Vice President, IBM Asia Pacific Business Transformation Services.
