13-358MR ASIC makes senior appointment in WA

Friday 20 December 2013

ASIC chairman Greg Medcraft today announced that Jane Gouvernet has been appointed ASIC’s Acting Regional Commissioner for Western Australia following the retirement of long-standing WA Regional Commissioner Bruce Dodd.

Ms Gouvernet, now Senior Executive – Emerging Mining and Resources, has spent her professional life working in the Western Australian market in a regulatory capacity, including in a number of senior ASIC positions in the markets enforcement and strategy teams.

As Senior Executive - Emerging, Mining and Resources, Ms Gouvernet is responsible for operational and project work relating to fundraising, continuous disclosure, mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance.

Ms Gouvernet is a graduate member of the AICD and FINSIA.

'I congratulate Jane on her appointment. She is a long-term ASIC person who understands our organisation but also the financial community in Western Australia. I know she will make a strong regional commissioner,' said Mr Medcraft.

‘I want to thank Bruce Dodd for his outstanding service. He has put ASIC on the map in the west and forged strong relationships with our regulated populations. Bruce has been a great ambassador for ASIC in the WA community and I wish him all the best for the future’.

ASIC expects to formally appoint Ms Gouvernet as WA Regional Commissioner after it has consulted with the WA Government, as required under the Corporations Agreement.
