ASIC today released details of its expenditure on international travel by Chairman Greg Medcraft for the first half of 2014.
Also released are Mr Medcraft’s international travel plans from July to December 2014.
Mr Medcraft has chaired the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) since March 2013.
Mr Medcraft said, ‘My work in leading IOSCO is about thinking ahead and taking action now for the longer term benefit of investors and businesses in Australia and right around the world, particularly given the key increasing role that markets have to play in funding economic growth.’
Background
IOSCO comprises securities regulators from over 110 countries representing 95% of the world’s capital markets worth approximately A$136 trillion (US$127 trillion). The board is made up of regulators from 32 countries comprising all major economies and leading emerging markets.
