15-066MR ASIC issues warning about Grandegoldens

ASIC cautions Australian investors in the retail foreign exchange industry in regard to dealing with a company named Grandegoldens Pty Ltd (ACN 080 952 245).

ASIC has become aware of a website, http://www.grandegoldens.com, that is offering services in the retail Forex business and is concerned that there is potential that information contained on the website may mislead investors.

The website contains reference to the Australian registered body number (ARBN) 60-080-952-245 and a registered office in Market Street Sydney.

ASIC advises that Grandegoldens does not hold an Australian Financial Services licence and is not licensed to trade in margin FX in Australia.

ASIC has issued this advice to ensure that investors do not unwittingly invest with Grandegoldens in the mistaken belief they are dealing with a licensed entity and are afforded certain protection that exists under the Corporations Act.

ASIC urges all investors considering the retail foreign exchange industry to check they are dealing with an entity that is licensed in Australia, or authorised through an Australian financial services license and regulated by ASIC. This can be done by searching the Professional registers on our website.

Investors located outside Australia should ensure the company they are dealing with is licensed to provide services in that jurisdiction with the local regulator. Links to the websites of international regulators that are members of the International Organization of Securities Regulators (IOSCO) are available on the IOSCO website.
