Charges laid against former Legacy Iron Ore Ltd (Legacy) company accountant Karen Kwan have been withdrawn. 

The prosecution had alleged that Ms Kwan, in co-operation with former Legacy managing director Sharon Kia Le Heng, stole approximately $725,000 from Legacy, an ASX-listed mining exploration company (20-311MR). 

The CDPP has conducted a further review of the matter and determined that the charges against Ms Kwan be discontinued. The CDPP withdrew all charges against Ms Kwan during a hearing at the Perth Magistrate’s Court on 28 October 2022. 

The matter was being prosecuted by the CDPP following an ASIC referral. 

Ms Heng’s matter remains before the court. She is next due to appear at the District Court of Western Australia on 9 February 2023 for sentencing.
