ASIC's 'Documents' search provides basic details of documents that have been lodged with us. Documents can be searched using the unique document number.

Information we provide free of charge includes:
- date the document was lodged
- unique document identification number
- document type
- number of pages in the document.
You can also purchase a copy or a certified copy of a publically available document.
A certified document is a document from our registers that we have certified as a true copy. Certified documents can be accepted as evidence in court. The certification must have an original ASIC stamp and signature.
Certified documents can be purchased online, but are sent by mail to the nominated address.
We can certify publicly available documents that have been lodged with us. We cannot certify:
- copies of certificates of registration of corporation(s)
- extracts from ASIC's registers, as this information is extracted from our records
- documents relating to insurance brokers or foreign insurance agents dated before Australian Financial Services licenses
You have the option of purchasing a certified or uncertified copy.
The only certificate available from an online search is a copy of a registration certificate.
You can buy more than one copy of a certified document, but you will be charged for each copy you buy. For example, two copies of a certificate of registration will incur two fees.
