If your personal details are on the companies register
Some details on the companies register can be seen by the public. These include a company officeholder’s residential address. If you are worried about your safety, you can ask us to hide (suppress) your residential address.

If you did not consent to being a company officeholder
Companies must get and keep your written, signed consent before appointing you as a company director or secretary. If you did not give your consent, you can ask us to consider your situation.

If we have deregistered a company
There are some reasons under the law that we can initiate the deregistration of a company. We call this an ‘ASIC-initiated deregistration’. The usual reason is that the company is more than a year late paying its annual review fee. You may be able to stop or defer an ASIC-initiated deregistration.

In some cases, you may be able to apply to reinstate a deregistered company.
If you have been affected by an emergency or natural disaster
If your company has been affected by an emergency or a natural disaster, we may be able to provide financial relief or help with lost documents.

If you want ASIC to review a late fee
You can ask ASIC to consider cancelling (waiving) a late fee, but only when circumstances were beyond your control. You will need to give us evidence.
