Notify ASIC of disqualification

If you are a business name holder or a company officeholder, you must let us know if you have been disqualified from holding a business name.

You are disqualified from holding a business name if you:

  • are disqualified from managing a corporation under section 206B(1) of the Corporations Act 2001 or
  • (within the past 5 years) have been convicted of or released from prison after serving a term of imprisonment for any of criminal offences referred to in 32(1)(c) or (d) of the Business Names Registration Act 2011.

How to notify ASIC of your disqualification

Step 1 - Sign up and log in to ASIC Connect

You need to link your business name before you can notify us. See Business names for more information.

Step 2 - Select your business name in the 'Lodgements and notifications' tab

Step 3 - Select 'Other notifications' from the transactions list and press 'Go'

Step 4 - Select 'Business name' as the business type and 'Notice of disqualification'

Step 5 - Enter all your new details and submit the transaction
