Update your business name address details
If your business name addresses change, you must update them within 28 days of the change occurring. Here we explain what addresses you need to keep up to date and how to update your address details online.
Addresses you need to keep up-to-date
The following addresses must be updated with ASIC.
Service of documents address
This must be a physical street address or postal address in Australia. We use this address to send official notices and letters to you and it will appear on the public register.
Principal place of business address
This must be a physical street address in Australia. It is the primary location where you carry on business and will appear on the public register.
If you operate as an individual and your principal place of business is your home address, we'll only display the suburb, postcode and state or territory of registration.
Email address
Your email address is used by ASIC to send official notices and correspondence. This includes your business name record of registration, renewal notices and any invoices.
Your email address will not appear on the public register.
Mobile number
You have the option of providing your mobile number to us to receive alerts or reminders by text.
Your mobile number will not appear on the public register.
How to update your address details
Step 1 - Sign up and log in to ASIC Connect
You need to link your business name to your ASIC Connect account before you can change your addresses. See How to link a business to your ASIC Connect account for more information.
Step 2 - Select your business name in the 'Lodgements and notifications' tab
Step 3 - Select 'Change business address' from the transactions list and press 'Go'
Step 4 - Select 'Edit', enter the new address, select 'Save address' and 'Next to continue
Step 5 - Confirm your details and submit the transaction
