Fees for Australian credit licences and annual compliance certificates

This is Information Sheet 108 (INFO 108). It is for Australian credit licensees. This information sheet provides information about the fees you will pay under the ASIC industry funding model for:

  • an annual compliance certificate, or
  • an Australian credit licence application or variation.

Fees for service under the ASIC industry funding model commenced on 4 July 2018.

Annual compliance certificates

Under section 53(1) of the National Consumer Credit Protection Act 2009 (National Credit Act), licensees must lodge an annual compliance certificate. This must be lodged each year no later than 45 days after your licensing anniversary.

After 4 July 2018 you no longer need to pay a fee when you lodge your annual compliance certificate. However, fees will apply if your application is late or if you do not lodge it electronically.

Australian credit licence applications and variations

Australian credit licence applications and variations can vary widely in their complexity. We have adopted tiered fees designed to reflect the complexity of the application. This will ensure that regulated entities pay an appropriate fee for the service we provide and allow ASIC to recover the actual cost of the time we spend on the application.

For information about how we calculate these fees, refer to the Cost Recovery Implementation Statement: Fees for service under the ASIC industry funding model.

Table 1 sets out the schedule of our tiered lodgement fees for service for credit licence applications under section 36(1) of the National Credit Act.
