As an Australian financial services (AFS) licensee, you can appoint financial advisers and authorised representatives to your AFS licence. Financial advisers must also be registered with ASIC before they can provide personal advice to retail clients on relevant financial products.
You can update the details of your financial advisers and authorised representatives online, including their authorisations, qualifications and address.
As an AFS licensee, you can appoint an authorised representative to:
provide specified financial services, and/or
appoint other authorised representatives on your behalf.

Before you can appoint an authorised representative to your AFS licence, you need to link the authorised representative to your ASIC Connect account.

As an AFS licensee, you must notify ASIC when you authorise a financial adviser, provisional financial adviser or time-share adviser under your AFS licence.
When you authorise an adviser, you must appoint the adviser to the Financial Advisers Register using ASIC Connect.

Your ASIC key is a unique number used in ASIC Connect that helps us establish your identity and protects your business information by making sure only you and those you have authorised can access it.
Your industry funding security key is a unique number used to launch an online transaction in the ASIC Regulatory Portal that will enable us to calculate your final industry funding invoice. You will be prompted to submit business activity metric information on the operation of your business in the previous financial year.
