This consultation paper sets out ASIC’s proposals for new market integrity rules specifically for the Chi-X Australia Pty Ltd (Chi-X) market, subject to final approval of Chi-X’s Australian market licence application. These proposals are separate from the intended new common market integrity rules for the introduction of market competition as summarised in Attachment 2 to Media Release (11-38MR) ASIC announces timetable for the introduction of market competition (3 March 2011).

This consultation paper explains our approach in developing the market integrity rules for the Chi-X market and how we propose they would apply to market participants who also need to comply with the ASIC Market Integrity Rules (ASX Market) 2010.
