Joseph Longo, Chair, ASIC
Joe Longo commenced as ASIC Chair on 1 June 2021.
He has held senior leadership roles over four decades in corporate law, financial services, regulation and law enforcement, in Australia and some of the world’s most important financial markets.
He was the general counsel for Deutsche Bank in London and Hong Kong for 17 years, providing leadership across regulatory issues, governance, corporate law and non-financial risk.
Before that, Joe was the national director of enforcement at ASIC between 1996 and 2001, and responsible for the coordination and direction of all enforcement and litigation activities.
He has also been a senior adviser at Herbert Smith Freehills and earlier, a partner at Parker and Parker (now Herbert Smith Freehills).
Joe represents ASIC in key national economic and law enforcement forums including the Council of Financial Regulators, Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission Board, the Criminal Justice Law Enforcement Forum and the Serious Financial Crime Taskforce.
He is also a member of the Board of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), the Asia Pacific Regional Committee of IOSCO, the Trans-Tasman Business Committee and the EU Asia-Pacific Forum.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Jurisprudence (Hons) and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Western Australia and a Master of Laws from Yale Law School.
Dr Raphael Arndt, CEO, Future Fund
Dr Raphael Arndt is Chief Executive Officer of the Future Fund. Prior to that appointment, he served as Chief Investment Officer of the Future Fund from 2014 to 2020. He leads a multi-disciplinary organisation, managing $300 billion on behalf of the Commonwealth of Australia. He was previously the Fund's Head of Infrastructure and Timberland where he was responsible for establishing both the Timberland and Infrastructure investment programs.
Raphael is on the Board of Director at FCLTGlobal and is a Member of University of Melbourne Council. He is also Chairman of the Investment Committee and a Board Member of the Melbourne Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation, Australia’s largest community foundation.
Raphael started his career as an Engineer working with Ove Arup & Partners in Melbourne and London. He holds Engineering and Commerce degrees and a PhD from the University of Melbourne which focused on risk allocation in Public Private Partnerships.
Professor Carole Comerton-Forde, Professor of Finance, University of Melbourne
Carole Comerton-Forde is a Professor of Finance at the University of Melbourne. Her research in market structure examines how market mechanics, such as regulation and technology, impact prices, liquidity and trader behaviour. Her research covers equities, corporate bonds and Exchange Traded Funds. Current research interests include dark pools, fragmentation, liquidity provision in ETFs and the connection between the cost of raising capital and secondary market liquidity. Carole’s research has been published in leading academic journals, including the Journal of Finance and Journal of Financial Economics.
Carole is an economic consultant for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and an Academic Advisor to the Plato Partnership. She is a co-founder of the Women in Microstructure research group and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research.
Carole is the author of Evaluating the state of the Australian public equity market: Evidence from data and academic literature (REP 807), which informed ASIC’s approach in its Discussion Paper.
Simone Constant, Commissioner, ASIC
Simone commenced as an ASIC Commissioner for a five-year term on 20 November 2023.
She has more than 25 years’ experience in financial services, markets, legal services and risk management.
Most recently, Simone was the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), Institutional Bank and Markets at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Simone has also held CRO roles at the National Australia Bank in the corporate, institutional and consumer banks.
She held senior NSW Government positions with the NSW Departments of Treasury, Finance and Education, where she specialised in financial, commercial and risk management.
Simone has also held senior roles in Australia, the United States and the United Kingdom at multinational investment, capital management and law firms.
She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Law from the University of Sydney.

Matthew Michelini, Partner, Head of Asia-Pacific, Apollo
Matthew Michelini is a Partner, Head of Asia-Pacific and a member of the Firm’s Leadership Team.
Matt joined Apollo in 2006 in Private Equity and has played a pivotal role in the creation and success of many of Apollo’s largest growth initiatives, including Athene, Hybrid Value, Apollo Dedicated Insurance Program, Natural Resources, and the development of the Financials Group.
Matt previously served on the Boards of Athene Holding Ltd., Aleris Corporation, Challenger Limited, Hero FinCorp, Maxcap Group, Metals USA, Noranda Aluminum, One Main Financial, Venerable Holdings, and Warrior Met Coal. Previously, Matt was a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions group at Lazard Frères & Co.
Matt currently serves on the Boards of Generation: You Employed (a global non-profit that believes in the power to change lives), and the advisory Board for the College of Integrative Studies at Singapore Management University (SMU).
A graduate of Princeton University, Matt holds a BA in Mathematics and Certificate in Finance and received his MBA from Columbia University.
Jason Collins, Managing Director, Head of Australia, BlackRock
Jason Collins is the Head of BlackRock Australia, an executive director of the board of BlackRock Australia and BlackRock New Zealand and is a member of the BlackRock Asia Pacific Operating Committee.
In his role, Jason has responsibility for the commercial and operational performance of BlackRock's Australian operations and the oversight of team members across the business. He previously served as the Deputy Head of BlackRock Australasia; the Head of ETF and Index Investing; and the Head of Client Business in the region.
Jason joined BlackRock in April 2013 from private equity firm Ascalon Capital Manager, a former subsidiary of BT Financial Group, where he last served as Head of Australia. Prior to that, Jason spent five years with Deutsche Bank in Singapore, working mainly with Global Markets. He started his funds management career with Bankers Trust Australia in 1998. Before joining BT, Jason worked as a financial markets journalist.
Jason earned a Bachelor of Business and a Graduate Diploma in Communications from the University of Technology, Sydney. He has also studied languages at universities in Spain and Sweden. Outside of BlackRock, Jason is a volunteer lifesaver registered with Surf Life Saving Australia and served as a non-executive director of SurfAid International.
Peter Warne, Chair, IPH Ltd and Non-Executive Director, UniSuper
Peter Warne has extensive knowledge of and experience in financial services and investment banking. He has been Chairman of IPH Limited since 2022, and a Non-executive Director there since 2021. Peter is also Chairman and a Non-executive Director of Argo Investments Limited and Argo Global Infrastructure Limited and a Non-executive Director of Allens, UniSuper, and Virgin Australia Airlines Limited.
Previously, he served as a Non-executive Director of Macquarie Group Limited and Macquarie Bank, including six years as Chair. He was an independent Non-executive Director of Capital Markets CRC, and its Chair for seven years. Peter was also a Non-executive Chair of ALE Property Group and OFX Limited. He was Director of NSW Treasury Corporation for eight years, serving as Chair from 2019 to 2020.
Earlier, Peter twice served as a director of the Sydney Futures Exchange (SFE), including as its Deputy Chair for four years, to 1999. When the SFE merged with ASX Limited in 2006, Peter became a director of ASX Limited, a position he held until 2020.
Peter also held senior roles at Bankers Trust Australia Limited, including as head of its Global Financial Markets Group for 11 years, to 1999.
Guy Fowler OAM, Co-Executive Chairman, Barrenjoey Capital Partners
Guy has been involved in financial markets for over 30 years. He spent 27 years at UBS Australia in various roles including Head of Corporate Finance and prior to that Head of Equity Capital Markets. While at UBS, Guy was instrumental in building and running the most successful investment banking franchise in Australia. He started his career with PwC.
Guy is a Panel Member of Adara Partners where he donates his time to advise on corporate transactions. He has a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University.
