The ASIC Professional Registers Search (Beta) is a new and improved public search for the following registers:

  • Australian Financial Services (AFS) licensees,
  • AFS authorised representatives,
  • credit licensees,
  • credit representatives,
  • official liquidators,
  • registered auditors (registered company auditors and authorised audit companies),
  • registered liquidators,
  • registered managed investment schemes, and
  • approved self-managed super funds (SMSF) auditors.

2. Why is there an ASIC Professional Registers Search (Beta)?

As part of our commitment to invest in capabilities that support ASIC being a digitally enabled regulator, we’re making changes to the way you search our professional registers. We are releasing a public Beta as the first step towards improving our technology and providing a better experience for those who engage with us. We will continue to improve the functionality before moving onto the next stage.

3. What is a public Beta stage?

A public Beta stage is a version of a product that is made available to the public, should you choose to use it. During the public Beta stage, the existing services will continue to be available. You should continue to rely on ASIC Connect for information when searching the professional registers.

We are releasing a public Beta to provide you with the opportunity to trial and provide feedback on the ASIC Professional Registers Search (Beta) before we move onto the next stage. Feedback collected during the public Beta stage will help us make improvements before we move onto the next stage.

A public Beta stage is recommended by the Digital Transformation Agency (DTA) for new digital products. Visit the DTA’s website for more information.

4. When will the public Beta stage end?

We will continue the public Beta stage until we are confident that we’re delivering an improved search experience.

Feedback collected during the public Beta stage will help us make improvements.

5. What registers can I search in the ASIC Professional Registers Search (Beta)?

During the public Beta stage, you can use the new functionality to search the following professional registers:

  • Australian Financial Services (AFS) licensees,
  • AFS authorised representatives,
  • credit licensees,
  • credit representatives,
  • registered auditors (registered company auditors and authorised audit companies),
  • registered liquidators,
  • official liquidators,
  • registered managed investment schemes, and
  • approved self-managed super funds (SMSF) auditors.

All historical professional registers (e.g. pre-FSR) will remain on ASIC Connect as will organisations and business names registers.

6. What information can be searched in the ASIC Professional Registers Search (Beta)?

The ASIC Professional Registers Search (Beta) provides information about a company or person registered or licensed with us to provide a service. You can search for the following information:

  • registration/licence number,
  • name of the person or organisation,
  • address,
  • start date of registration/licence,
  • status, and
  • details of any conditions or restrictions about the registration.

During the public Beta stage, the ASIC Professional Registers Search (Beta) will be updated once a day and will be timestamped to show when it was last updated. You should continue to rely on ASIC Connect for the most current information.

7. Should I use ASIC Connect or the ASIC Professional Registers Search (Beta)?

You can choose to use the new search functionality and modern look and feel of the new ASIC Professional Registers Search (Beta).

However, during the public Beta stage, the ASIC Professional Registers Search (Beta) will be updated once a day and will be timestamped to show when it was last updated. You should continue to rely on ASIC Connect for the most current information.

8. Why are my search results on the ASIC Professional Registers Search (Beta) different from ASIC Connect?
