Christmas closedown
ASIC offices will be closed from Friday 22 December 2023 12:00 PM to Monday 1 January 2024, re-opening on Tuesday 2 January 2024 8:30 AM AEDT.
During the break, you’ll still be able to submit documents online and use our online services. You can use ASIC Connect to search our registers and purchase any documents you need.

Lodging documents
Companies
You can still lodge forms online and by mail throughout the closedown period. If you're lodging documents via EDGE your Digital Service Provider (DSP) may be able to provide assistance.
If your company registration queues for manual intervention you will receive a response from Tuesday, 2 January 2024.
We will recognise the receipt of paper lodgements received during the closedown period. A late fee will apply if the document lodged was due before the closedown period.
Example 1
If a change is due by close of business 22 December 2023, and we don't receive it until 2 January 2024, a late fee will apply.
Example 2
If a change is due by close of business 26 December 2023, and we don't receive it until 2 January 2024, a late fee will not apply.
Business names
If you have an existing ABN, you can also apply to register a business name via ASIC Connect.
If you need help, ASIC telephone and web support will be unavailable during the closedown period. Visit our support page for business names if you need help with a transaction over the closedown period.
If your business name queues for manual intervention, you will receive a response from Tuesday, 2 January 2024.
Maintenance transactions
You can still lodge forms online and by mail throughout the closedown period.

Managed investment schemes, product disclosure statements and offering securities
ASIC Corporations (ASIC Close Down Period) Instrument 2018/1034 may extend (without any further notice from us):
- the time period in which we must register managed investment schemes from 14 to 21 days; and
- the exposure periods that apply to disclosure documents offering securities and Product Disclosure Statements from 7 to 14 days.
You should check that instrument and consider its effect in your circumstances, if you lodge:
- an application for registration of a managed investment scheme, from 12:00 PM on Friday, 22 December 2023 until 8:30 AM on Tuesday 2 January 2024; or
- a Product Disclosure Statement or a disclosure document offering securities, from 12:00 PM on Friday, 22 December 2023 until 8:30 AM on Tuesday 2 January 2024.
Annual statements
Annual statements will continue to be sent out for companies and schemes with an annual review date during the closedown period.
Annual review fees can continue to be paid via BPAY or at Australia Post.

Searching
Our online searching services remain open throughout the closedown period.
If you wish to use an information broker you will need to check the availability of their services.
Enquiry services
Telephone and online enquiry services will be unavailable from 12:00 PM EDST Friday 22 December 2023, re-opening at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, 2 January 2024.
Media enquiries
The ASIC Media Unit will be closed from 5:00 PM AEDT Friday 22 December 2023 re-opening at 8:30 AM AEDT on Tuesday, 2 January 2024.
For urgent media enquiries during this period, please email media.unit@asic.gov.au. A member of ASIC's Media Unit will respond as soon as possible.

The last issue for 2023 will be published on Friday 22 December 2023.
The first issue of the ASIC Gazette for 2024 will be published on Tuesday 2 January 2024.
Business Gazette
The last issue of the Business Gazette for 2023 will be published on Tuesday 19 December. Notices should be received by 10:00 AM AEDT Friday 15 December 2023.
