What we do

ASIC is Australia's integrated corporate, markets, financial services and consumer credit regulator.

ASIC is an independent Australian Government body. We are set up under and administer the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 2001 (ASIC Act), and we carry out most of our work under the Corporations Act.

ASIC Code of Conduct

Our Code of Conduct sets out standards of behaviour and expectations for how our people act, solve problems, and make decisions.

Honesty and integrity is essential to our role as a conduct regulator, and our standing in the communities we serve.

In performing our functions, we interact with a wide range of stakeholders – consumers, regulated entities, government and other agencies.

Our Code of Conduct sets out expectations about how we interact with you, and how we are accountable for our actions.

It states our commitment to act with professionalism and integrity and helps guide our people to make the right choices and decisions when performing their roles.
