ASIC notes the decision of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions (CDPP) to discontinue the prosecution of Ms Manija Zayee, former director of Myra Home Loan Pty Ltd trading as Myra Financial Services (no longer trading).

Ms Zayee was committed for trial on 18 May 2015 on one criminal charge brought by ASIC following a contested committal hearing. The charge related to obtaining a financial advantage by deception.  Her trial was scheduled to proceed in the County Court of Victoria on 9 May 2016. A related charge of using a false document was withdrawn at committal.

Since the committal hearing, the CDPP has conducted a further review of the matter and determined that the charges against Ms Zayee should be discontinued. ASIC was consulted and agrees with that decision.

ASIC will make no further comment on the matter.
