How to remove an authorised lodger from a business

If you are no longer the authorised lodger for a business, or you want to remove a person who has been appointed as an authorised lodger for your business, you can do so by following the steps in this user guide.

Further assistance with removing authorised lodgers or completing other transactions using ASIC Connect can be accessed via the Help button at the top right-hand side of the screen.

Get started

To get started, visit the ASIC website at www.asic.gov.au.

  • Click on the blue ASIC Connect box. This will take you to ASIC Connect.

Log in 

Go to ASIC Connect and select 'Log in'. 

  • If you do not have an ASIC Connect account select 'Sign up'.
  • Log in using your email address and password.

How to remove an authorised lodger from a business

Select the 'Lodgements & Notifications' tab at the top of the screen.

  • Select the business name you wish to remove the authorised lodger from.
  • In the transactions column, select 'Change representative details'.
  • Select 'Go' to continue.

Remove representative

The business name representative details will be displayed.

  • Select 'Remove representative' next to the name of the person being removed.

The type of representative will be authorised lodger, if you are removing:

  • A business from your account, select your name.
  • Another authorised lodger linked to a business, select their name.

Effective date

The change will be made within minutes.

  • Select 'Next' to continue.

Review

Check that the correct representative (authorised lodger) has been removed.

  • Select 'Edit' to go back and change or
  • Select 'Submit' to continue.

Declare

Read the declaration to ensure you agree with the conditions of the transaction.

  • If you agree, tick the boxes next to the declaration to proceed.
  • Select your authority for submitting the transaction.
  • Select 'Next' to continue.

Confirmation

This screen confirms your transaction has been submitted. 

  • Select 'Print the transaction' to download a printable PDF version of the transaction.
  • Select one of the links under What else can I do for more information about other services or
  • Select 'Home' to return to the ASIC Connect home page.

What is an industry funding security key?

Your industry funding security key is a unique number used to launch an online transaction in the ASIC Regulatory Portal that will enable us to calculate your final industry funding invoice. You will be prompted to submit business activity metric information on the operation of your business in the previous financial year.
